Its central role is to issue and license GS1 prefixes, which allow companies to generate GTINs (Global Trade Item Numbers). It is the only authorized organization in Namibia to issue these identifiers.
How GS1 Namibia works
The operating model is simple and structured:

The company becomes a member of GS1 Namibia and receives an exclusive prefix 631;
- 2.
Registers its products
- 3.
Automatically generates the corresponding GTINs for each item;
- 4.
Applies the barcodes to packaging and systems;
